Screenr

Hello everyone.

This week I was taught some of the basics of a program called screenr. It is a very fun and easy to use program that allows you to record what you do on you screen.

Using it I made this video for all of you who are interested in the process I use to publish a post on this blog.

Thank you for your time.

Book report

Hello everyone. Sadly I still have had no luck with on watching another old movie. This is because along with social sites that I have been looking into I have also been reading Security in a Web 2.0+ World: A Standards-Based Approach by Carlos Curtis Solari. His book was a very interesting read that I thought would be worth sharing with everyone.

As you probably guessed, Security in a Web 2.0+ World: AStandards-Based Approach is about the security that is used in web 2.0. The target audience for the book are people who like security, like myself, and business owners. The main goal of this book is to teach readers how flawed the system is, The consequences of not fixing the system, and how Solari believes that we should deal with the issues.
The biggest flaw in the web 2.0 system right now according to Solari is that prevention is not being incorporated, but detection is the main focus of security. Because of this we have an annoying patch system that just goes over the problem until it is changed. According to Solari, if this problem, along with a few others, is not fixed then their the threats that could be around in 2019 will be devastating. For example, according to Solari if quantum computing is out in 2019 even strongly encrypted nation systems will be in danger from hackers let alone home computers. Looking at the hacking groups we have today such as Masters Of Deception and Anonymous Solari's prediction doesn’t seem to be that far off. In order to fix this problem, or at least make it far better, we three major groups need to join together to lead the change in web 2.0. “Who are these forces for change? In a broader sense, there are three: business, academia (including research), and government.”(1) If these 3 groups band together to change web 2.0 it can get the fix that it needs.

The only down side to this book to me was that the author didn't seem to understand the mind of some hackers. One of the things that he said was “For businesses, security need not imply additional cost. There are a great number of examples where the cost of security can be returned as business value, directly associated with a brand. In the automotive industry, Volvo Òputs safety at the center of its strategy and uses it to differentiate it self from competitors. Similarly, security can be used to competitive advantage by enabling business partners.”(2) To me that seems to be a challenge to hackers. That along with a handful of other quotes through the book makes me think that he does not understand hackers. Witch is a slight disappointment when reading a book like this. However, other than that one downside this book was very helpful and overall a very good read!

(Sorry that I didnt have time for the movie again. I should have much more time in 3 weeks. Thank you all for reading)

Flickr

http://www.flickr.com//photos/wesley45h/show/

I have been looking into how to use Flickr in and have made this slide show for this blog! I know it is
not really good especially sense it was made with 5 home made images and 3 that I took with my phones camera. However, This was only the first of what will likely be many attempts at working with this program. I put up my first slide show on this blog to show off what I found that Flickr could do, though I may have turned people away with my slide show. I strongly recommend that everyone who has not already give this site a shot! I would also love it if you guys used it to make a slide show of cool movie pictures that would really show off how cool Flickr is, show me how its really done lol.

On another note, I am sorry that I have not been keeping up with this blog. I have been trying to learn how to work with a few other social sites and have had nearly no time to watch any of the movies that I have lined up. I will try to fit one in asap. Thank you all for keeping with this blog in this difficult time.

----Movie wiki---(not a movie)

This is not about any specific movie its just something that I would like to share with everyone. So, if you are just here to see what I thought about movies ignore this post!
I just found this wiki and felt that it would be a cool site to help jog my memories, and help me rediscover movies from my past. The website is http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/The_DisneyWiki. It has Over 6000 posts that are all for Disney movies. So, by digging around these posts I will be able to find many more videos to blog about than I would have been able to before! Because of this site I have already found several movies that I am going to try to blog about as soon as I find a way of watching them. The most note worthy one that I rediscovered form this site was The Fox and the Hound. I probably would have forgotten about this movie entirely!
I will also try to make good contributions to http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/The_DisneyWiki as well using the name wesley45h. I will mainly be doing this to as ways to help movie descriptions for the movies I am putting on this blog. For example I have already edited a page for The Black Cauldron, http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/The_Black_Cauldron. I will likely only add trailers because to me they give a good feel of the movie. Thus, it will help all of you decided if you want to watch the movie again if my review of it didn’t convince you.

The Black Cauldron

The Black Cauldron was a movie I would bug my parents to watch over and over again. So, I decided that it was a good movie to re-watch for this blog.
I did not enjoy watching The Black Cauldron even half as much as I thought I would. It's story just didn't entertain whatsoever. It was still “OK” thanks to the characters in the movie, especially Gurgi, and the humor used. I will show my child this movie. However, I will be hopping that he does not have the same obsession with it as I did because the characters can only keep it a fun movie for so long.
